01Is this for you
Who tends to work well with us
We are a small senior team, which suits some buyers much better than others. You are likely to be a good match in these cases.
- You want the people who build the system to also run it, rather than a developer and a host blaming each other.
- You have a live system nobody can upgrade or explain, and it needs an honest audit before anything new.
- You need ecommerce, an internal system and the integrations between them, and would rather not manage three suppliers.
- You value written specifications, architecture decisions and handover notes as much as code.
- You are comfortable being told when a migration, platform or feature is not worth doing.

03Which option
A small senior company, a freelancer, a large vendor or an in-house team
There are several honest ways to get software built. We are one of them, and this is how we would compare them if we had no stake.
| Option | Fits when | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Small senior company like us | You want one accountable team across development, integrations and hosting, on a system that will live for years. | Limited headcount, so we cannot staff very large parallel programmes. You also depend on a few people, which good documentation has to offset. |
| Freelancer | The job is small and well defined, and you can judge the work yourself. | Holidays, illness and departures all land on you, and few freelancers cover infrastructure as well as code. |
| Large outsourcing vendor | You need many engineers across many technologies, or formal structures for a big organisation. | You may not choose who does the work, and seniority varies. Small accounts can get less attention. |
| Your own in-house team | Software is central to your company for the long term, and you can recruit and retain people. | Slow to build and costly to reverse, though no supplier can match knowledge that stays in the building. |
If we are not the right company, we say so and often suggest who is. A first conversation that ends with advice you can act on yourself still counts as useful to us.
04Cost
What decides what a project costs with us
No price list exists, because the range of work is too wide for one to mean anything. These are the things we look at first.
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Scope clarity | Unclear requirements are the commonest source of overruns, and this is why larger work starts with discovery. |
| Integrations | Every system your software has to talk to adds a data contract, error handling and monitoring. |
| Existing code | Inherited systems need stabilising first, so we begin with a paid audit before promising anything. |
| Engagement model | A fixed-scope project, a monthly team and a support agreement are priced in quite different ways. |
| Product or custom | Our own products are priced from a configuration, while custom builds are estimated from a backlog. |
| Life after launch | Monitoring, patching, upgrades and hosting are running costs that belong in the first conversation. |
Discovery is a paid, fixed-price phase of one to three weeks that produces a specification, architecture, risk list and costed backlog. You own that output whether you continue with us or not, and it is the point at which a reliable number becomes possible.
05How to start
How working with WeDevelop begins
Send a brief
The form takes about a minute and goes to an engineer, who reads it and looks at your site or system.
A call if it makes sense
Thirty minutes on the actual problem, not a pitch. An NDA can be signed before this conversation.
Discovery or audit
A written result you own: a specification and costed backlog for new work, or an audit with severities for a live system.
Build, then run
Two-week sprints with a demo you can click through, then a support agreement or a clean handover to your team.
06For a useful reply
What to include in your first message
Start from the problem rather than the technology. A few plain sentences work better than a formal document.
- What is not working today: a slow store, a manual process, a system nobody can upgrade.
- The address of your site or a short description of your system.
- The other software it has to work with.
- Whether you want a project delivered, a team to direct or a problem audited.
- Any date that is genuinely fixed, and why it is.
07Questions
What people ask a Romanian software company
How much does software development cost in Romania?
It depends on seniority, scope and integrations, and any number quoted from a one-page brief is a guess. We start larger projects with a fixed-price discovery that yields a costed backlog, and teams are quoted per role after a short call.
What is the smallest project you take on?
New development generally starts at around a few weeks of work, and smaller pieces such as an audit, a fix or one integration are welcome. Those small jobs are often the sensible way to find out whether we work well together.
How long does a software project take?
The timeline follows the scope, integrations and the state of any existing code, so we set it in discovery rather than in advance. Discovery itself takes one to three weeks, and our configured products usually go live in weeks or a few months.
How large is WeDevelop?
We describe ourselves as a small senior team, and we do not publish a headcount. Dedicated teams run from three to ten engineers, so for dozens of engineers at once, a larger vendor would suit you better, and we would rather say so up front.
Which certifications does WeDevelop hold?
Our management systems are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 27001, and our senior Magento engineers hold Adobe Commerce Developer certification. Send a request and we will supply the current certificates, with scope and validity, so you can verify them yourself.
Do you work with clients outside Romania?
Yes, with clients across the EU, the UK and North America, working remotely in English or Romanian. Contracts can be under Romanian law or your own jurisdiction, and invoices can be issued in EUR, GBP or RON depending on what suits your finance team.
Can you be the supplier on an EU-funded project?
Yes, we act as the technical supplier on funded digitalisation projects and deliver against the milestones in your financing contract. We also hand over the documents an audit asks for: specification, acceptance minutes, test evidence and the transfer of intellectual property.
Who owns the software you build for us?
On custom work you own the code from the first commit, the repository is yours and the infrastructure can be in your accounts. Our own ERP, document and appointment products are different, because you use them under an agreement while we keep developing them.
