Smatch — global marketplace for dental CAD design
A two-sided platform where dental labs post CAD design jobs and freelance designers from around the world bid, deliver and get paid — with 3D preview, per-project chat and milestone payments.

The challenge
A dental lab cannot judge a crown or an all-on-X design from a thumbnail; it needs to turn the model, check margins and request changes before accepting. The platform had to make 3D files first-class — upload, preview in the browser, annotate — and wrap the whole job in a workflow both sides trust: bidding, milestones, escrow-style payment on acceptance, and payouts to designers in many countries.
What we built
A Next.js application with a project workflow (post job, receive bids, design upload, in-browser 3D preview, change requests, validation, download), a project-specific chat, Stripe for client payments held until the lab is satisfied, and Trolley for international designer payouts and tax forms. Reviews and completed-project history build reputation on both sides.
The outcome
A working marketplace with live projects and a global designer pool, where a lab can outsource a design in minutes and a freelancer is paid safely when the work is accepted.
